Liz Kinder earned her BFA from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1987. Her interest in clay started in childhood. During the mid-1990’s, while renting space at Ruby’s Clay Studio in San Francisco she met Joseph Manzare, a chef who commissioned bowls, platters and a massive vase for his restaurant called Globe. The restaurant provided Kinder excellent exposure and increased demand for her work. In 2000 she received her MFA from the Ceramics and Glass Department of the Royal College of Art in London. After winning a Merit Award to do the 2002 Rosen Show she moved her home and studio to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prices from $28 |
