Miriam Timmons' beaded works consist of precisely weaving glass seed beads around objects of wood, plastic, shell, or metal. Only a needle and thread or wire is used in the weaving process. The stitch that she has used for the past 20 years is called the "brick stitch." This stitch allows her the freedom to manipulate the beads around tight corners of three-dimensional objects. Her beaded beads are featured in the book, Creating Beaded Beads 2006 by Terry Krautwurst. |
